As early as the 1980s, the Sachseln-based drive specialists installed a motor in a bicycle. It was a birthday present from Bodo Fütterer, the CEO at the time, to company owner Erwin Braun. The bike had six 32 mm AlniCo motors in the front wheel. The batteries were barely sufficient to go 1.5 km from the factory to the village. The project was eventually abandoned.
